We know you may have many questions when the time comes to let your pet go. The following answers common questions we receive. You will probably have other questions not listed here. If you don't see your question answered below, please contact your veterinary office for more details.
How do I have my pet cremated?
We serve the majority of veterinary offices across Oahu. The owner is able to work with the veterinary office exclusively so that the burden of managing your pet’s aftercare needs can be addressed in a familiar environment.
How long does it take?
The veterinary office will call us to pick up patients for cremation services. We will pick up patients within 24-48 hours of being called. We strive to start the cremation process the day of pick up so that we can return the ashes back to the veterinarian office within 24 hours.
What can I expect when I pick up my pet from the Veterinary Office?
We deliver your pet’s ashes in a complimentary decorative tin inside a velvet bag. Your pet’s remains are enclosed inside, wrapped in tissue paper in the event you would like to transfer your pet to another receptacle, such as an urn. With your pet, we will provide a certificate of cremation authenticating that your pet was cremated at Oahu Pet Crematory. We also provide a bookmark with the Rainbow Bridge poem as a tribute to your pet and contact information of a local pet loss grief support group if the need should arise.
What if I would like to order an urn?
We offer an array of urns, personalized placards, and other memorialized mementos. The veterinary offices have catalogs for these items available for your review. Because most choose them to be personalized, it can take 1-2 weeks on average for urns to be delivered. Some of our urns are kept in stock so that we can expedite getting your pet returned to you.
How much does cremation cost?
Cremation services are dependent on the type of service that the pet owner chooses and is also based on the weight of the pet. Communal Cremation begins at about $50.00 and is based on the weight of the pet and Private Cremation begins at about $200.00 and is based on the weight of the pet. It is best to contact your veterinary office for a more specific estimate.

Can I take my pet directly to Oahu Pet Crematory?
For those that would like to work directly with Oahu Pet Crematory, arrangements can be made to have your pet brought to our facility. We accept patients directly by appointment only as our staff is not always in the office during the work week. What are the differences in the crematory services?
The Oahu Pet Crematory offers Communal, Segregated, Solo and Solo with Viewing Option cremations. The details of each service are listed below.

Segregated Cremation
Segregated Cremation provides you with the opportunity to keep your pet’s cremated remains as a permanent personal keepsake. This is our most commonly provided service as it makes cremation more affordable and you can be assured that you will receive only your pet’s remain back. When you choose Segregated Cremation, your treasured pet is placed in the crematory chamber with other pets present, but they are clearly separated from the other pets within a clearly segregate section in the cremation chamber. When the cremation process is complete, we ensure that you will receive only the cremated remains of your pet. Your pet will be returned in a complimentary tin, placed in a velvet bag with a certificate authenticating that your pet was cremated at Oahu Pet Crematory.

Communal Cremation
Keeping the memory of your pet close to your heart, a communal cremation offers both peace of mind and solace. With communal cremation, your pet in placed into the cremation unit with other pets with no separation. Once the cremation process is complete the pets’ remains are collected as a whole and are to be scattered.

Solo Cremation
Solo cremation provides you with the opportunity to keep your pet’s cremated remains as a permanent and personal keepsake. When you choose Solo Cremation, your treasured pet will be the only pet in the cremation chamber during the cremation process. When the process is complete, we ensure that you receive only the cremated remains of your pet. Your pet will be returned in a complimentary tin, placed in a velvet bag with a certificate of cremation authenticating that your pet was cremated at Oahu Pet Crematory. Because individual cremation is more costly to perform, there is an increased expense for this service. Please contact us for rates and details.

Solo Cremation with Viewing Option
Sometimes, being close to your pet as you say goodbye is an important part of the grieving process. For the pet owners who prefer to say goodbye to their cherished pet in a private setting, Oahu Pet Crematory offers the opportunity for a Solo Cremation with Viewing Option. Our Solo Cremation with Viewing Option is for those who need to be present for the cremation process for closure and grieving purposes. The pet owner is present during the cremation and for the collection of the pet remains and will take them home in a pre-selected complimentary urn. Because this requires special arrangements within the crematory, a private viewing may require weeks of advanced planning and there is an increased expense for this service.
